About Who Was Who
A subscription to Who's Who entitles you to see either:
- This year's edition of Who's Who; or
- This year's edition of Who's Who PLUS Who Was Who—the Who's Who entries of everyone who has ever been included, dating back to 1898
If you have bought a personal subscription to the online edition, together with a copy of the printed book, you have the full subscription to Who's Who PLUS Who Was Who. Institutional adminstrators and librarians may choose to subscribe only to the current edition of Who's Who.

More about Who Was Who
- There are over 80,000 biographies in Who Was Who, from the archives of Who's Who stretching back to 1898.
- The first person in Who Was Who, by birth date, is Charles Villiers, who was born in 1802.
- Here, for example, are the entries for W. S. Gilbert and Florence Nightingale.
- The last person is Luciano Pavarotti, who died in September 2007.
- Over 10,000 of the Who Was Who biographies are linked to the corresponding biographies in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
