About the Author(s)
Sunanda Gupta is a Consultant Community Gynaecologist in Waltham Forest PCT and honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Queen Mary's University. She heads a busy Community Gynaecology Unit and has extensive experience of service planning and provision. She served on the expert Independent Advisory Group on Sexual Health and HIV from 2003-2007 and on the faculty higher training and examination committees from 1999-2005. She is the training programme director in Waltham Forest. She has published many peer reviewed publications, chapters and reviews in the field of community gynaecology. Debra Holloway is a Nurse Consultant in gynaecology at Guys and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London. Her clinical caseload consists of one-stop outpatient procedure clinics, which include hysteroscopy. She mainly works with women with bleeding problems but also with a menopause and bleeding HRT clinic and telephone clinics. Her background is in gynaecology nursing, where she has held a number of posts ranging from staff nurse to Clinical Nurse Manager, before returning to a clinical role. She is involved in both formal and informal teaching of nurses and medical students. She is involved with the RCN gynaecology forum as a member of the steering group and also on the RCN Menopause group. Ali Kubba has worked in the field of reproductive and sexual health for the past 25 years. His main interests are cervical screening, colposcopy, contraceptive technology, menopause, PMS and medical gynaecology. He has published around 200 papers and has been involved with numerous books. He is a founding member of the Board of the Faculty of Family Planning of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is colposcopy lead at Guy's Hospital and is a London Region NHSCSP Quality Assurance Committee member.
