The SIC97 elevations and precipitation amount values are provided in the file sicfullelev.csv, this can be opened using Microsoft® Excel® and the GWR software. GWR outputs are given in the file sicfullelevgwr.csv. The boundary of Switzerland (for context) is given in the shapefile borders.shp. The GWR software is available from ncg.nuim.ie/ncg/GWR/. GWR can also be conducted in ArcGIS™ 9.3 – the tool is part of ArcToolBox and is found in the directory Spatial Statistics > Modeling Spatial Relationships. An introduction to the ArcGIS™ 9.3 GWR software has been written by the developers of GWR and it is available here: ncg.nuim.ie/ncg/GWR/GWR_ArcGIS.html Note that ArcGIS™ 9.3 also includes functions for computing global (ArcToolBox > Spatial Statistics > Analyzing Patterns) and local (ArcToolBox > Spatial
