The Government Equalities Office is a new self-standing Department, whose mission is to put equality at the heart of Government. The GEO is responsible for the Government’s overall strategy on equality including a new equalities bill and has strong links to the Equality and human rights commission.

The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service is an independent government funded organisation whose aim is to improve employment relations. They provide information and advice on a range of employment issues including equal opportunities.

This government run website provides advice and guidance on employment matters including employee rights and protection under the law. It has a large section on discrimination.

The Trade Union congress provides advice and guidance to its members on employment matters as well as liaising with government and employers. The worksmart website is focused on providing news, advice and guidance to employees and union members.

The Dignity at work project is a jointly funded government and trade union initiative which was set up to tackle the issue of bullying at work. It provides a range of advice guidance and research.

The professional body for those involved in the management and development of people. It has a ‘key cases’ section for recent judgements for cases in equality legislation.

The Government department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory reform works with employers, trade unions and employees to improve the quality of working life for individuals, and create the conditions for business success.  It provides advice and guidance on a range of employment issues including equal opportunities.
