This is a paper located on the Social Research Update which looks in detail at the issue of Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing. The authors Roy Sainsbury, John Ditch and Sandra Hutton argue that despite it being in its infancy CAPI has the potential to produce better quality data.

Another paper from the Social Research Update written by Roger Thomas and Susan Purdon. In it they claim that although there are time and cost savings to be made using the telephone to conduct surveys it should not be regarded as a replacement for face-to-face interviewing.
