European Union institutions
Europa
europa.eu/index_en.htm
The Europa website is the main gateway to the European Union's presence on the internet. You can access resources in a variety of categories. The tabs in the middle of the screen are perhaps the easiest way to navigate and will lead you to information on EU policies, institutions, documents and services respectively.
University of Leiden: European Union History Site
www.eu-history.leidenuniv.nl/
This website, hosted at the University of Leiden, provides various types of information about the history and evolution of the European Union. Sections of the site to visit are the bibliographies of newly released scholarly works on the EU, the electronic resources section where you can find, amongst other things, copies of historical documents relating to European integration, and the timelines section which links to a variety of attempts to outline the trajectory of the EU.
European Navigator
www.ena.lu/mce.cfm
The European Navigator is a visually striking website which provides a wealth of material on the development of European integration. Of particular note is the timeline of the trajectory of the EU. The site is also distinguished by its large quantity of multimedia material including images and video interviews (although these frequently are not conducted in English).
European Integration Online Papers
eiop.or.at/eiop/index.php/eiop
This website takes you to a freely accessible online journal of scholarly research on European integration. The journal has been running since 1997 and you are sure to find a number of articles of interest and relevance to the material discussed in this chapter.
The Centre for European Reform
www.cer.org.uk/
The Centre for European Reform is a think-tank based in London which despite its pro-European credentials seeks to reform the institutions of the European Union. The website is sensibly organised with a series of links at the top of the page allowing access to the CER's publications on the EU Constitution, enlargement, economic reform, justice and home affairs, security and defence and European foreign policies.
