Guide to the resources

The first section comprises a list of useful web links to aid student research. In addition, we strongly suggest you visit the relevant page of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Heidelberg, [www.mpil.de/en/LINK/epilvr.cfm], which is very well organized and gives web links in a thematic order.

The second section is devoted to a select bibliography in English. When doing further bibliographical research, it is useful to visit the online catalogues of these two libraries:

  1. Peace Palace Library [www.ppl.nl], whose catalogue lists both the monographs owned by the library, and the reference of every article published within one of the specialized journals that the library holds (and there are many!).
  2. Max Planck Institute (Heidelberg) [aleph.mpg.de/ALEPH/FJEC225VVFT1Q9SFVGLK7

    ]

The third section consists of case materials related to the book and divided chapter-by-chapter. Additional documents may be found by visiting the following web sites:

  1. Yale Law School - The Avalon Project
    [www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/avalon.htm] where one can find diplomatic documents, treaties and other documents relating to US practice.
  2. Fletcher Multilaterals Project
    [fletcher.tufts.edu/multilaterals.html], which contains the texts of numerous international conventions - organized chronologically and thematically - as well as web links to other useful research tools.
  3. New York University Law Library Guide to Foreign and International Legal Databases
    [www.law.nyu.edu/library/research/foreigninternationaldatabases/index.htm] whose section 'Foreign databases for Jurisdiction' contains web links to the national legislation and case law of many countries.

If you have any suggestions or comments regarding the material on this web site, please write to: Paola Gaeta (paolagaeta@tiscali.it).
