Despite being over 15 years old, this book continues to provide the most comprehensive and accessible review of the literature on criminological psychology.

Kapardis, A. (1997) Psychology and Law: A Critical Introduction. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.
A general introduction to psychology’s various contributions to criminal justice and socio-legal studies.

Webber, C. (2008) Psychology and Crime. London: Sage.
Webber’s Psychology and Crime provides a good overview of both these areas, as well as an analysis of the consequences of crime for victims, offenders, and wider society. It also includes a range of practical devices to support the learning process. The book is also useful in that it discusses some of the more thoughtful critiques of psychology by writers such as Nicholas Rose and Michel Foucault.
