Using the material available to you online; carefully choose a retailer with international operations in more than five markets.
(a) Identify when the company entered the different markets.
(b) Identify how the markets do or do not conform to the five fundamental reasons discussed above.
(c) Does your chosen retailer conform to the patterns illustrated above or does it challenge them?
(d) How ethnocentric or geocentric is the retailer?
Be careful to choose a retailer that provides you with the online information you require. The big food/hypermarket retailers are often very good sources of this type of information. However, remain critical about the editing of information a retailer might do when describing their commercial experience in international markets. Look for other sources that verify or contradict their published information.
