Contemporary business is coming under increasing pressure to behave ethically with regards to the treatment of suppliers, customers and the general environment. In recent years this trend can be best seen with the emergence of ‘fair trade’ products as businesses responds to societies concerns over the mistreatment of workers predominantly located in developing countries. What are the underlying principles of Fair Trade products? How has the behaviour and internal structures of traditionally ethical companies such as The Body Shop, Green & Blacks and Ben & Jerry’s changed over the years?
