A divisional court has held that the s 16(1) requirement for an analyst to be authorised only applies to the giving of a certificate under s 16 and does not apply to, or prevent the giving of, oral evidence or a statement under CJA 1967, s 9. [CPS v Sedgemoor Justices [2007] EWHC 1803 (Admin).
