Oxford Spanish Dictionary

Subjunctive

Instructions:

The subjunctive is used more frequently in Spanish than in English and knowing when you need it will improve the accuracy of your translation. The dictionary indicates whenever the subjunctive needs to be used, either with the abbreviation + subj or with an example sentence.

Choose the correct translation by looking up the Spanish verb used in the optional answer sentences and deciding whether the subjunctive needs to be used or not.
