Use your dictionary to help find the answers.
English and French idioms are not always translatable word for word.
This exercise helps you familarise yourself with looking up English idioms in the English-French side of the dictionary to find the correct French equivalent. For instance, the translation for to grin like a Cheshire cat is listed at cat rather than Cheshire. Being aware of where idioms are most likely to be found will save you time when translating.
The dictionary indicates the various grammatical categories with certain abbreviations. Knowing them off by heart saves you a lot of time.
