Delete the first sentence and replace with - ' Serious or minor offences may have been committed, or reasonably suspected, within such incidents; if so, a constable will have the normal power of arrest if the requirements of PACE, s 24 are satisfied.'


Domestic Violence p 767

Under the Civil Partnership Act 2004 which came into force on 5 December 2005 the domestic violence regime of the Family Law Act 1996 set out in the text is applied to civil partners as it relates to spouses. In addition, under associated statutory instruments, the definition of 'cohabitants' is amended to include cohabiting same-sex partners.
