Police Law - Ninth Edition

Chapter 1 - General Principles

Chapter 1

Assisting offenders p 15

The references to 'arrestable offences' appearing under this heading and the following heading 'Concealing offences' should be replaced by references to 'relevant offences'. A 'relevant offence' is an offence for which the sentence is fixed by law; an offence for which a person of 18 years or over (not previously convicted) may be sentenced to a term of imprisonment for a term of five years (or might be so sentenced but for the restrictions imposed by the MCA 1980, s 33). [SOCPA 2005 Sch 7]
