The Oxford DNB's 10,000 contributors were overseen by an expert editorial team in Oxford led by Professors H.C.G. Matthew and Sir Brian Harrison; the current editor is Dr Lawrence Goldman of St Peter's College, Oxford. Fourteen external consultant editors and 400 associate editors recommended new subjects and peer reviewed completed work for academic quality.
