New website features
- New links from Oxford DNB biographies to the Royal Historical Society's bibliographies, bringing the number of deep links to partner web sites to almost 40,000
- additions to the dictionary's electronic index to improve place searching
- installation of an RSS ('really simple syndication') web feed to send out daily biographies, and details of new and free content
Corrections and additions to existing biographies
Just over 800 changes have been made within the dictionary's 63,000,000 words. Revisions include:
- corrections to known factual errors
- addition of new information (for example, family members' life dates) to keep the Oxford DNB continuously up to date
Revised biographies are identified by a citation at the foot of the article screen:

The Oxford DNB from May 2006
- 50,854 articles in which are told the life stories of 55,684 individuals
- 5,800 entries on women: that is, 10 per cent of all lives and 28 per cent of first-time entrants to the dictionary across all periods
- 10,261 subjects with a portrait image
- 12,806 contributors (including contributors to the first DNB where they remain as signatories of revised entries)
