This page contains general help information relevant to the Oxford Education website. If you have a query or problem about a specific page that is not addressed here, please use our online Feedback form.

Finding your way around our website
The top blue 'Oxford' strip contains links to general information relating to Oxford University Press. Below that, the grey 'Education' bar contains links to the main sections of the Education website. These divide the content into 5 main sections relating to different areas of the market - for example 'Primary schools' is for teachers and people interested in primary education with the UK, 'International Schools' is for overseas customers and 'Children's books' contains information about those books for children which are usually sold in bookshops and other retail outlets.

When you are in one of these main sections, the menu on the left hand side gives links to other areas in the same section. For example within the Primary Books section, you can link to areas such as Literacy, Maths or French which contain resources and information related to those subject areas.

On the right hand side, the Information Menu contains link to pages which provide more administrative information within the site. Examples include our contact details, how to order, finding your local representative and requesting a catalogue. This menu appears on every page within the Oxford Education website and should provide a useful set of resources and links.

Below the Information Menu there are a range of 'Other Resources' links to other areas of the site that may also be useful. From the main section homepages these link to areas of particular interest to customer groups such as parents,children or librarians, or details of our resources targeted for schools in Scotland. Elsewhere within the site they will provide links to material related to the page you are currently on, as a 'if you like this you may also be interested in this' facility.

The Oxford Education website also contains a 'breadcrumb trail' below the top bars which shows you the page you are curretnly on in relation to the rest of the site. For example, it might say:

Oxford Education homepage >> Primary Education >> Literacy >> Oxford Reading Tree

Each of these items is a link, so as well as showing you where you are in the website, the 'breadcrumb trail' also allows you to go 'up' one or more sections.

Browser support
We have made every effort to make the Oxford Education website usable for as many different web browsers as possible. Unfortunately, older browsers are not able to take advantage of current technology, and so the site does not look as 'designed' as it does in modern browsers, although all the information should still be accessible. If possible, we would encourage all users to update their browser to the latest version - not only for this site, but to enhance your use of the web in general. Alternatively, many computing magazines come with free CD-ROMs which include the latest versions of various browsers.

Adjusting text size
The Oxford Education website is built using relative font sizes, which means that if you want to see larger or smaller text, you can change the text size using your browser. In Internet Explorer this is done by going to the top menu and selecting 'View', then 'Text Size'. Medium is the usual setting, so selecting Larger or Largest will increase the text size. Similar facilities exist in other browsers, normally on the 'View' menu. Your browser's 'Help' menu should give you further information about making these adjustments.

Searching
You may be able to find the answer to your question by searching the Oxford Education website.

You can enter a 'keyword' into the search box on the top right-hand corner of any page, or you can go to the 'Advanced Search' page to use specific search criteria or features. This facility will help you locate a specific book or product, with options to search by ISBN, author or title, for example.

Printing from this website
The Oxford Education website has been designed with a 'Print this page' option available from every page. This can be accessed from the bottom of each page and will open up a Print dialog box to allow you to use your standard browser print functionality. Within the catalague information pages, there is also a special 'Print book information' option at the top of the page, which will help you print out the bibliographic details of the individual book you are looking at.
