Lesley Howarth
Lesley Howarth grew up in Bournemouth. Before she started writing she helped to build the family home in Cornwall and then took seasonal jobs picking flowers and tomatoes, the source for her Whitbread-shortlisted novel, The Flower King, and MapHead which won the Guardian Children's Novel Award.
When not writing she enjoys swimming and walking the Devon and Cornwall Coast Path and teasing the cat, Maisie. Her interest in Greece stems from a family holiday and memories of a book of Greek myths which she had as a child.
Lesley's latest novel, Calling the Shots, is a thought-provoking and challenging book about celebrity and the power - for good and bad - of television.
