Clive Gifford has written many books for children, including Soccer Tactics and The Kingfisher Book of Football, and is known for his meticulous research and chatty style. He is the winner of the Smithsonian Museum's Notable Books for Children Award for his book Living Worlds and was shortlisted for The British Book Awards for his book Refugees.

Oxford has published Clive's amazing Fantastic Football, a real winner, crammed with fascinating facts about the world's favourite sport.

2007 will also see the publication of Crimebusters, which looks at a huge variety of crimes from burglary to forgery and from arson to cyber crime! Intriguing real-life cases are examined under the microscope and there are several forensic experiments that can be performed by the amateur detective using everyday objects.

Clive lives in Manchester.
