Maths Makes Sense Training
Maths Makes Sense Training - Learn the system, Love the Maths!
Why do I need training?
Maths Makes Sense is a transforming learning system. Our training will give your school a complete introduction to teaching maths using this system. Once trained, both teachers and teaching assistants will be able to teach and support Maths Makes Sense effectively.
What type of training do you provide?
There are several ways to receive Maths Makes Sense training, whether you require an introduction to Maths Makes Sense or an advanced course.
Introduction to Maths Makes Sense
For schools and teachers new to Maths Makes Sense. For Taster Days please visit the events page.
Whole School Training
For new schools wanting to implement Maths Makes Sense as their mathematics scheme.
What does the training involve?
Over the course of two in-service days, your staff - both teachers and support staff - will be trained in the detail of Maths Makes Sense so that teaching can start immediately in all classes from the Foundation Stage to Year 6. This two-day training helps to ensure that the whole school adopts the programme whole-heartedly and successfully.
What support will there be?
Six to eight weeks after you have started to teach the programme there will be a follow- up Monitoring and Implementation Day. A day will be spent in your school, working alongside the Maths Makes Sense Manager in implementing and monitoring practice and answering all queries.
How much will it cost?
Two-day Whole School Training and one Monitoring and Implementation Day:
(to a maximum of 45 people on the 2 day training) is £2,750 + VAT. Additional people will be charged £200 + VAT each for the two days.
If two small schools join together to share the training, the second school will need to book a separate Monitoring and Implementation Day at £550 + VAT.
