Will your children be crowned Diamond Readers and Diamond Writers in our sparkling new competition with The National Literacy Trust?

To celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and get your children excited about reading and writing, simply join this free competition and give them the chance to win some fantastic prizes!

The competition in a nutshell...

jubilee

To mark the Queen’s 60 year reign, members of the Royal Family are going on a tour of the Commonwealth. By taking part in The Big Diamond Jubilee Read your children will set off on their very own tour too, moving around Commonwealth countries on a fun classroom wall map as they read their chosen books. We’ve added a writing element to the competition for your children to enjoy too: This gives them the chance to share their thoughts about their favourite book with a child in another Commonwealth country.

The competition will run from Monday 16 April until Friday 29 June 2012. Schools can take part in both elements of the competition or choose just the Diamond Reader or Diamond Writer. There are some fantastic prizes to be won for children and schools including a writing workshop with Best-selling author of Sky Hawk Gill Lewis. Find out more about The Big Diamond Jubilee Read

Aside from the main competition there will also be the chance for schools to share their Jubilee stories on Radiowaves – which is a safe social network especially designed for schools. By sharing your Jubilee story you and your children will have the chance to win more prizes. You will be encouraged to write blogs, upload videos of your Jubilee activities and share book reviews plus much more through this multimedia platform. Find out more about Share your Jubilee Story
