FAQ
-
- Q, I've made a copy of the CD-ROM; why won't it work? (CC3)
You're allowed to copy the CD five times, to be used by staff at your school. The machine-readable CD label must be 'Coursemaster FM7' (or FM8 if you have the year 8 CD). To check this, look at the name beside your CD drive in My Computer. If this label is wrong, you will have to burn a new copy from the original, making sure to label the CD correctly in your CD writing software.
-
- Q, When i open Framework Maths CD-ROMs I am unable to get beyond the welcome screen?
The solution given below should work for users who see a loading screen followed by a white screen with blue text saying 'Welcome to Framework Maths 7 [or 8 or 9] Coursemaster'. If this doesn't describe the problem you are having, or if the solution does not work, please contact us on 01865 353374 or send an email to: edtechsupport@oup.com
The Framework Maths CD-ROMs were built to work with Flash player 6. More recent versions of flash have enhanced security settings which may prevent you gaining access to flash content that you were previously able to open. To correct this problem, you need to alter your settings so that use of the Framework Coursemaster CDs is permitted.
Note: for this solution, you will need to be connected to the Internet. You will also need to have full administrative rights on the machine on which Framework Maths is installed.
- Ensure the application is fully installed and that the CD-ROM is in the disc drive.
- Open the application and, once the welcome screen has appeared, right click in the central area and select 'Settings' from the menu.
- A box will appear titled 'Macromedia Flash Player Settings'. Click on 'Advanced'.
- Your internet browser will open a url within Macromedia' website. Click on the link 'Global Security Settings Panel' on the left of the page.
- You will see a box titled 'Adobe Flash Player' Settings Manager'. Click on the tab for 'Global Security Settings'.
- From the three options available, click on 'Always ask'.
- From the dropdown menu, select 'Add locations'.
- Select 'Browse folders' and browse to the directory where Framework Maths is installed (the default location is C:\Program Files\CourseMaster FM).
- Close all browser windows and restart the application.

- Q, Can I network the CD-ROM?
The CD does not have a network installation. Some schools have successfully networked the software but OUP do not provide technical support for this option.
-
- Q, When l construct my own scheme of work, and try to save it, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
Open Word and go to the Tools menu; choose Options, click the General tab and the seventh checkbox down says "Check conversion at Open", ensure this box is checked.
