The Numicon multi-sensory approach to maths teaching can transform children's understanding of number and number relationships. Seeing pattern in numbers is a key part of mathematical thinking and the Numicon approach is designed to play to the strong sense of pattern that is present in all children, it helps them to understand complex mathematical ideas by using structural apparatus - the Numicon Shapes and Number Rods - in a progressive programme of largely practical activities. Mathematical language is encouraged throughout the teaching programme with guidance on encouraging mathematical conversations. Thousands of schools have already recognised that the Numicon approach has on children's mathematical development and more and more teachers are experiencing Numicon's high quality professional development. Children love the Numicon multi-sensory approach; their enthusiasm and increased confidence encourages them to persevere, which in turn leads to a deeper understanding of mathematics and raised achievement.

There is not an .msi for this version of the software. If you browse the Numicon disc you will find a folder called "Network Versions". To distribute the software across your network you will need to put the "Numicon Software for IWB.exe" in a shared location. You can then create shortcuts to the .exe and place them on the client machines. Alternatively you could allocate the “Numicon Software for IWB.exe” onto every machine as it under 6mb in size. The software doesn’t need to be installed to run.
