Jan McCafferty
Jan McCafferty grew up on the Wirral near Liverpool with her sister and parents. Her earliest memory is drawing stick men on her Mum’s new curtains. For years she wanted to be a vet after reading the James Herriot books, but settled for drawing animals instead! Jan studied Graphics and Illustration at Chester and Birmingham, then worked in London as a designer at Usborne Publishing for 5 years. She now works as a freelance illustrator and lives in Manchester with her husband, Steve and daughter, Lara.
