Jonathan Emmett
Jonathan was born in Leicestershire in 1965, the son of a rig fitter and a primary school teacher. It was while he was at college, studying architecture, that he first developed his skills as a writer and illustrator, creating detailed illustrations to accompany poems and lyrics that he had written. After leaving college, he worked as an architect for several years, before pursuing a full-time career in children's books.
In addition to writing young fiction and picture books, Jonathan has also written and paper-engineered a number of pop-up books.
He lives in Nottingham with his wife Rachel, and his children, Max and Laura. His hobbies include walking, reading, furniture design and tinkering with his website www.scribblestreet.co.uk.
