Submitting a manuscript to OUP Children's Books
We are always happy to accept new manuscripts for consideration. Please make all submissions in hard copy rather than by email.
We are currently happy to consider picture books and fiction for children up to 16 years old.
We endeavour to reply to all submissions within two months, unless it is a particularly long manuscript. We do not have any strict guidelines, but we do suggest that you:
Send a synopsis and three chapters, unless it is a picture book text
Ensure your name and address is on the manuscript itself
If sending artwork, please send copies rather than originals
If you wish your work returned, please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope (We cannot return your manuscripts if you don't include this)
